In August, the Westgate Practice issued a statement regarding our intention to co-administer both the Covid Autumn Booster and Influenza Vaccinations. This means that you will be offered both vaccinations at your appointment as advised by NHS England.
We have held two clinics to date, vaccinating approximately 2,500 patients. The Practice have now also invited all patients aged 65 years and over to book their JOINT Covid and Flu appointment. Invitations have been sent either by text (with a booking link) or by letter where no mobile number is held by the practice. If you have yet to book your appointment, please do so as soon as possible either using the link in the text or by ringing the surgery after 2.30pm.
PLEASE NOTE: If you have already attended another centre for either of your vaccinations, please contact the surgery after 2.30pm to book your outstanding flu or Covid vaccination. We want to ensure that all our patients are prepared for the winter ahead.
A completed covid questionnaire will be required at your appointment to ensure that sufficient time has lapsed since your last vaccination and to check for any other important information. Covid questionnaires are sent out with your invitation to book if you receive this by letter. Otherwise they can be printed from our practice website by clicking on the red banner at the top of the homepage and selecting the Consent Form for Autumn Booster programme. Alternatively they can be collected from Greenhill Health Centre.
We are currently inviting patients aged under 65 with a clinical risk factor so please ensure that you book your appointment once invited.
Those aged 50-64 years who are well, will be invited towards the end of October.
